IPO Details

What is Birkenstock?

Birkenstock, also known as Birkenstock Holding Limited, is a German shoe manufacturer known for its sandals and other footwear that typically use cork for the soles.

The company, founded in 1774 by Johann Adam Birkenstock, has headquarters in Neustadt, Germany. By 1925 Birkenstocks were sold all over Europe and in 1966 dressmaker and designer, Margot Fraser, brought Birkenstocks to America. In February 2021 L Catterton, the private equity firm backed by Bernard Arnault's LVMH, agreed to buy Birkenstock in a deal that valued the company at around €4 billion.

When is the IPO expected to take place?

On September 12th, 2023, Birkenstock officially filed to begin its IPO roadshow.

The official IPO launch can take place in as little as one to two weeks after the roadshow is completed, thus putting a timeframe near October 11th. The actual timing depends on a number of factors, including whether the underwriters determine that a price adjustment is needed or if any difficulties come up involving the filing of key documents.

Birkenstock IPO Statistics

Analysts are suggesting Birkenstock’s 2023 debut IPO puts its value at about $8 billion. The valuation estimate is likely to change throughout the roadshow, or once the price range is announced. Last year the company’s revenues were up nearly 30% to $1.3 billion
